HHCo vs. HHC: 3 Clear Differences

Cannabis enthusiasts are always in search of exciting ways to explore different options surrounding cannabinoids and their incredible effects. As the quest continues, many newer and improved cannabinoids like HHC and HHCo have also hit the market. Hexahydrocannabinol is one the most popular variants of THC, as its effects are pretty similar to the conventional cannabis effects. To add more power to HHC and increase its potency, HHCo was created. It is also known as Super-HHC because of its implausible potency. The exact mechanism of action of these compounds is still to be discovered, but we have enough evidence to talk about their structure and effects.

Here are some key differences between these two cannabinoids.

What is HHC?

HHC is a whole new category of legal cannabinoids that are derived from hemp. It is considered a great alternative to delta-9 THC because it produces similar effects. It was first discovered in 1944 by chemist Roger Adams by adding a hydrogen molecule to the delta 9 THC. This process is known as hydrogenation. Since it is a relatively newer cannabinoid, much less studies are conducted to know the exact working in the body and its effects. Experienced users report having THC-like high that is not as potent but an excellent option for those who want mild effects.

It may also produce side effects like anxiety and paranoia if consumed in a higher quantity.

What is HHCo?

hhco

As the name reflects, HHCo is almost identical to HHC, with only subtle differences. Since it is the most recent addition, only a few people know about this variant. It is created synthetically by adding an acetate to the parent cannabinoid. It is made the same way as THCo, adding more potency and strength. It is estimated that the potency of hexahydrocannabinol increases by 1.5 % when acetate is added to it, which means that HHCo is more potent than HHC.

3 Main Differences between HHC and HHCo

Even though both cannabinoids are very similar, here are the 3 main differences between them.

Origin

Even though both are hemp-derived, since they occur in scarce quantities, we primarily use synthetic hexahydrocannabinols in the products. The parent compound of HHC is hemp-derived delta 9 THC; as for HHCo, we use HHC.

Chemical structure

The main difference in the chemical structure is the presence of acetate in the HHCo, which makes it more potent and desirable.

Potency

As mentioned, HHCo is 1.5 times stronger than its parent compound and offers more potent euphoria and stoned effects.

Similarities between HHC and HHCo

Interestingly, both these cannabinoids have more similarities than differences. Since their basic chemical structure and mechanism of action are the same, they offer parallel results.

Calming and Relaxing: Users of both cannabinoids often mention a sense of relaxation and reduced stress or anxiety. These compounds may have potential applications in promoting emotional well-being and stress relief.

Pain Management: Some users have reported that these compounds may offer relief from pain and discomfort and could potentially have analgesic properties, which makes them similar to other cannabinoids like THC and CBD.

Appetite Stimulation: Like THC, both HHC variants might increase appetite, often called the “munchies.”

Sensory Enhancement: Users have noted that their sensory experiences, such as taste and smell, are enhanced under the influence of these cannabinoids. This sensory enhancement is somewhat similar to the “heightened senses” reported with THC use.

Wrap up

Hemp-derived compounds like HHC and HHCo have entered the ever-expanding landscape of cannabinoid products, offering unique and diverse experiences for those seeking alternatives to traditional THC or CBD options. These compounds have added to the curiosity of consumers and researchers alike, offering potential benefits, but their safety and effectiveness are still subjects of ongoing study. As with any cannabinoid, it’s essential to approach these with caution, starting with low doses and seeking high-quality, reputable products.
